Uploading your Content
Uploading your content to our servers may seem daunting, especially if you haven't used FTP before, but don't worry, its really not as hard as it looks. This tutorial will cover how to use FTP on windows. If you are using Linux there is a great chance you already know how to do this. What you'll need Your custom content (.mod & .hak files) Windows, or if you are using linux any kind of FTP client The Process Firstly, start by opening 2 folder views. (Start> Computer) The First should be your local Neverwinter Nights folder. The Second doesn't need to be anywhere in particular. This is going to be the FTP window. ![]() At the top of the window there is a bar which will probably say > Computer >. Click in this bar and it will change to text. Clear it out and enter the FTP Address you received in your welcome e-mail. When you're done, press enter. ![]() A small window should pop up entitled "Log On As", here you enter the Username and Password mentioned in the welcome e-mail. You can choose to "Save Password" if you are using a private computer. Then click Log on. ![]() You will then see the contents of the server. These are all the files that make your Neverwinter Nights server run. It has an identical file structure to your local game and modifying it is very easy. Navigate the folders like you would within your computer normally. ![]() Go to the "modules" folder and swap to your first window. Go into your modules folder on your computer, select the module you want to run, and copy it. Then swap to the FTP window and paste the module into the modules folder. You should see the progress bar going across, it may take some time if your module is large. ![]() Once this is done you can go "up" one folder and then open the "hak" folder. Do the same process again. Copy and paste all of your custom .hak files into the ftp server's hak folder. Remember: If you asked for the CEP to be installed when you ordered you will not need to upload the normal large CEP .hak files. They should already be visible in the FTP Server. Once you have done these 2 simple steps you are ready to update your nwnplayer.ini and your nwnx.ini files. |
