Configuring your NWNplayer.ini & NWNx.ini

There are many possible problems when your server is first started up. You might be missing .HAK files or other required files. Your nwnplayer.ini might be misconfigured or your module might even be corrupted.

All of these errors are easily fixed and we'll help you work out what is wrong. When we start your server for the first time we watch it load up. If there is a problem starting up, we take a look at the logs and work out the problem for you. If its a minor misconfiguration we will fix it for you and notify you of any changes we make to the server configuration.

If the module file is corrupted you may have to upload it again, there can be many causes for corruption. Compiling the module may have failed or the module might have been corrupted during the FTP transfer. Whatever the reason it is easily fixed by re-uploading the module in most cases. To minimize frustration we reccommend that you attempt to locally host your module by running it in nwserver.exe before you upload it, this way you will spend less time uploading and more time enjoying your module.

Missing HAK files are the most common cause of startup problem and the most easily fixed. If your module uses any of the resources found in the CEP you will need to make sure that you select it on the order page. If you forget, please feel free to send us a Support Ticket and we'll happily install it for you. If your server is missing a custom HAK file which is not part of the CEP, you will need to make sure it is uploaded. We will inform you of which files are missing if your server fails to start due to missing .hak files.
